The first time I saw him he was tied on a chain. One hundred dollars later he was mine. I called him "Dealer". The rest is history. Dealer soon became Am Can Bermuda Champion Kluanes Sharabian CD . I am proud to say that I handled him to three of his four Best in Show wins. In 1981 he was Canada's #1 Springer and #4 Sporting Dog. Dealer was one of the neatest dogs I've ever known. He had a huge fan club. He was known for his fun personality and great sense of humor. You could teach him any trick . His favorite was to balanced a cookie on the end of his nose and on command toss it into the air and catch it. He loved stuffed animals or squeaky toys. Even until the end he would play a squeaky toy to death! He loved to swim and would spend hours in the water given a chance. His first owner had actually used him for hunting. Every Christmas we get out the “Dealer mouse” and give it a place of honour in our home. This was a bright red stuffed mouse which a friend had given me for Christmas, but Dealer soon decided it was his. He would carry it around in his mouth, talking away and if we weren't careful he would have loved to take it's stuffing out……. I cannot begin to tell you the many things Dealer brought to my life. It was because of Dealer that I met my husband, Paul. Dealer was our foundation sire. He was a great producing sire and most likely holds the Canadian record for the most champions sired. He had several sons and daughters which excelled in the show ring including Can Am Ber Ch Kerrilee's Maritime Tradition CD, "Kyber", was Canada's #1 Springer, #1 Sporting Dog and #10 All-Breed in 1989. Kyber continued the family tradition of siring great Springers by producing "Cody", Am Can Ch Serenade's Family Tradition.
